has the council done anything to stop or modify the proposed ROW HOUSE project on 55th Ave. S.W.? As you know, the development will divide the neighborhood, eliminate all surrounding light, air and view, and permitting merely a 5 foot front yard is hardly consistent with sensible neighborhood development. the neighbor to this project is prohibited from building anything within 20 feet of the street while this project allows out of area developer to build out to within 5 feet of street. Not only is that dangerous for pedestrians, auto traffic but also favors the out of area developer over the existing homeowners and families that live at Alki. How does that sit with the Alki council and what is it doing to fix or influence this project?

Marty, a couple of us (ACC board members) testified at the public meeting. It’s unclear if this influenced DPD’s direction. Tony
Note: there is another rowhouse planned 6400 block of Alki Ave. This too is not desirable.
