Sponsors, volunteers needed for ACC event, May 22

April 29, 2011

ACC Family Day

Mark your calendars for May 22 as the ACC joins forces with with SDOT in their “Seattle Summer Streets” car free day, along with the 5K run being sponsored by WSHS Alumni Association. We are producing a combined event that will be fun for all as the ACC continues fundraising for the plaza maintenance fund.

The ACC is now the steward of the Statue of Liberty Plaza care and maintenance funds that remain from the original project, and we want to carry on with the family friendly community celebration events on the plaza that have occurred there during the last few years because of the statue renovation. Last September, the ACC hosted “Family Fun Day at Alki Beach.”

Please put this date on your calendar as a day to both support local businesses on the beach and to have fun attending the variety of activities along the street.

Libby Carr and Sandy Payne are co-chairing the ACC portion of the event which will be held on Sunday, May 22nd from approximately noon to 5 p.m. If you would like to donate to this event (money, prizes, or supplies), or have time to volunteer beforehand or on May 22, etc. please let us know. E-mail either Sandy Payne at spsfafaf@msn.com or Libby Carr at libby@carrbiz.com.

Tentative ACC activities include a band, a kid’s talent show, a petting zoo, interactive vendors such as face-painting and dog massage, ultimate frisbee and dance demonstrations, kid’s games with prizes along with presentations by various community groups doing good in West Seattle.

We are looking forward to a fun and successful community event!
