Alki Community Center needs your vote now!!

October 26, 2010

The City of Seattle is proposing to cut 70% of the Alki Community Center operating hours, down to 15  hours per week as part of their plans to solve the budget shortfalls!

Help save the center by registering a YES vote  for saving and protecting funds needed to maintain current hours of operation at the Alki Community Center.  The City’s website allows residents to vote and comment on projects that are listed for potential cuts in the 2011-2012 budget.   As more votes come in, the idea becomes more noticeable to the City Council.

For over 50 years the Alki Community Center has offered families and Alki residents a safe place for our children to play and recreational and educational programs for all ages.  From Friday night skate nights, art fairs,  organized sporting events, special teen nights and classes for senior citizens, the Alki Community Center offers something for everyone!

Please make your voice be heard at the City so our community center can continue to contribute to the health and vitality of our Alki neighborhood.
