Baseball, Starfish and some Rock ‘n’ Roll

Summer is here and Alki’s got some great activities this weekend. From Bar-S comes the local West Seattle Little League All Star team games. Located at the end of Admiral the  Bar-S fields (6464 SW Admiral Way) offer some of the best baseball around featuring local kids aged 9-10 and 10-11. Their snack shack offers $1 hotdogs, sodas and a wide range of summertime goodies to eat during these exciting playoffs.

Start your weekend with a walk over to the park to catch the action. Games are played at 9:30 a.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. on both days this weekend. Visit www.westseattlelittleleague.com for a full schedule.

Low Tides Continue Tomorrow;

Puget Sound starfish

Beach Naturalist volunteers will be out at Alki shorelines tomorrow between 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. to share stories, answer your questions and perhaps help you find the Alki octopus.

Viaduct closure half day Saturday:

For those venturing downtown this weekend; note the infamous Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon (and Half Marathon) will take place on Saturday and the Alaskan Way Viaduct will be closed from 4 a.m. until  4 p.m. northbound and 4 a.m. – 1 p.m. southbound.   Consider taking the King County Water Taxi to get you downtown on Saturday.
