Seattle Parks and Recreation Celebrates Youth Appreciation Week, March 30-April 4

Seattle Parks and Recreation will offer fun activities for youth throughout the City during Youth Appreciation Week, March 30-April 4, coinciding with Spring Break for Seattle Public Schools. These activities are all free or very low cost and open to any youth ages 11-18 who would like to participate. Youth are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to each activity to be donated to local food banks to help families in need during the current difficult economic time.

As part of Youth Appreciation Week, Seattle Parks and Recreation is also recognizing Seattle youth who have made exceptional contributions in their communities through volunteerism and leadership. These outstanding youth will be honored at a recognition ceremony as part of a Youth Appreciation Week Block Party at Southwest Teen Life Center, located at 2801 SW Thistle Street, from 11:00am-4:00pm on April 3. All youth are welcome to attend the event which will include free food, entertainment, games, and a health fair.
